A Perfect New Year’s Eve Proposal

The holiday season brings us an attitude of gratitude, valuable time with our loved ones, and a lifetime of memories. And one thing that brings all of this together is the element of surprise. As December comes to a close, you may be thinking about taking the next step with the love of your life.

Here are some tips on a New Year’s Eve proposal we’ve gathered for you to ensure that your moment is memorable, romantic, and perfect.

  1. Location: A setting for such a life changing event makes a big statement for a soon-to-be-married couple. Will you choose a place that means something to you? Will you be seeking out somewhere for exclusivity? Elegance? Romance? Maybe you want something a little more quirky, or maybe you’ll be out for the evening somewhere a little more personal. You know your partner best, so your intuition is your best superpower for finding the place that will define the moment.

  2. Individuality: Is there something special you both share? An inside joke, a delicate secret, possibly one thing that only the two of you would understand? This could be a song, a food, a special memory, etc. Whatever it may be, there’s no better way to individualize the moment than by incorporating these into your proposal.

  3. Ambience: Ambience and location tend to work in tandem. This sets the tone and the mood of your proposal. Will you be making this a big, flashy proposal? Or would you rather keep your proposal more intimate and quiet? Will you decide on decorations? Possibly candles for the epitome of romance and intimacy. Or a band and family in a more exclusive setting. Again, your location will also play a big role in this!

  4. Documentation: Deciding on how (or if) you will memorialize this day is all up to you. There’s no right or wrong to this. If you want something more private, then maybe you don’t want a photographer present. Will you want to hire a photographer? Or will you have a loved one who is handy with the iPhone take on this role? Either way, you can never go wrong with a souvenir from the sweet moment!

  5. Timing: Patience is indeed a virtue. If you are out on New Year’s Eve, chances are, you will be waiting for the clock to strike midnight to get down on one knee. Use your time before to prep, enjoy your evening, and spend your time with your friends, family, and your darling.

However you decide to plan your proposal, we will be there every step of the way when you need us for your wedding planning needs. Best of luck. Happy New Year to a happy couple!
